CONGRATS TO COACH KRUYS
After a few setbacks, Coach Peter Kruys was finally able to coach his 1700th game for Russell Minor Hockey last night. The game in Navan was a 3-3 tie vs the Gloucester Centre Cougars in their 1st playoff game. Truly a remarkable milestone; Coach Kruys began coaching in Russell in 1984 after coming over from the Metcalfe District Hockey Association. It has been quite a ride that hopefully will continue with the RMHA. A big Thank You from Coach to all those that made it possible.
THE PETER KRUYS VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION AWARD
The Russell Minor Hockey Association (RMHA) sponsors a Volunteer Appreciation Award named after Peter Kruys, the incredible example of a dedicated, and long standing volunteer and Coach. This award is to be presented yearly to an outstanding member of our hockey community who has demonstrated great leadership in hockey and has been a positive role model for our youth.

THE COACH PHIL SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD
In memory of long time RMHA Coach, Phil Marchessault, this award is presented to an RMHA player who shows the true spirit of sportsmanship throughout the season. Going above and beyond to help and encourage teammates and, win or lose, never giving up. Never forgotten, Coach Phil.
